Delacorte has posted an excerpt of EXTRAORDINARY. They left out the pre-amble to the chapter, though, excerpt from "Born to Be Extraordinary: Jenny's Fairy Godmother," by Eileen Codlin. It goes like this:
Jenny climbed out of her Prius and waved to Melinda Cranston's Mom, who was sitting on the porch with Melinda. Melinda was already. It was going to be another long piano lesson.
As she walked up the driveway, Melinda's little brother threw a pair of dirty underpants out his window. They narrowly missed Jenny's head.
"If only I were a princess," she thought, "I wouldn't have to teach piano to these brats just to make my car payments!"
