The closing of Borders is not the fault of the employees. Nor is it much to do with ebooks or amazon or the economy. It's just regular old incompetence on the part of upper management. They failed utterly and spectacularly.

I worked a lot of jobs in my day, but never worked anywhere where the employees held the corporate office in high regard. You just never hear anyone say "You know who's smart? Upper management. Those guys have it TOGETHER."

If the Borders execs responsible for the destruction of the company had any decency, they'd donate their severance to charity and retire in disgrace. I don't expect that they WILL, but they SHOULD.
